oh hey there, hand on butt.
Pretty legit “Assassin” fan video
Really wanting to watch this in an hour and a half but likely won’t be able to because of continuing flood coverage. Oh well - that’s what CBS.com is for.
Last week in Los Angeles I participated in a live Q&A as part of an ASCAP expo on songwriting. When the topic of Twitter came up, I explained my waning interest in it being part of my daily life. By no means do I think it’s over as a medium altogether, but I do think that the days of “Twitter: The…
Trying out my first reblog, as suggested by jhnmyr. Why not? What do I have to lose? No one is looking at this page anyway.
I agree that Twitter has likely “reached it’s [sic] cruising altitude,” but I will also say that I still find it to be the quickest, easiest, and oftentimes, most effective way to communicate and get information from friends, acquaintances, and favorite celebs (or wannabe celebs).
This weekend, it has been a medium allowing me to see photos of friends’ flooded basements and rushing water over nearby streets in a more powerful way than the ongoing news coverage - because it’s personal. During award shows, I often enjoy seeing what the Twittersphere has to say more than watching the actual event itself.
It’s a powerful (albeit sometimes annoying) thing when people have 140 characters or less to say whatever they want to say. Some need to learn how to exercise more caution. Some need to let themselves go a little more and say what they really want to say.
I’m still trying to find that balance, but I admit, I like reading/seeing what other people Tweet on any given day more than I like putting messages out there myself. I don’t know what I’ll do to entertain myself once it’s truly “over” - which will inevitably happen someday. Probably people watch more.
Note: It’s been a while since I’ve used that awesome [sic] tag I learned in J-school. Feels good.
